ENISA is a Spanish public company under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism. Since 1982, it has been actively supporting innovative business projects of SMEs in Spain. BDMI is a New York-based VC company that is part of the global media group, Bertelsmann, which backs mainly companies in the new digital media ecosystem. The company usually invests through Series A and Series B rounds ranging from US$500,000 to US$5 million with reserves for follow-ons.Companies backed by BDMI get access to a vast network of media companies in the Bertelsmann group and benefit from their extensive media expertise with a global perspective.The firm’s portfolio includes startups from North America, Europe and Israel.

Part of the Telefonica group, Wayra started its investment in Latin American countries and Spain in 2011. It offers mentoring and acceleration programs across 24 countries, leveraging on a global network of over 350 million customers.Wayra bridges the gap between tech entrepreneurs and networks of governments, corporations and partners where Telefónica has a presence.To date, the firm has invested more than €40 million and built 11 acceleration hubs that provide startup entrepreneurs mentoring and support from corporate leaders, investors and serial entrepreneurs.

B Capital Group is best known as the venture capital firm co-founded by Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook. Its investment thesis focuses on connecting highly innovative and agile startups with major corporates that are in need of innovation and have the resources to innovate. As such, B Capital has a special interest in B2B companies that have great potential to disrupt critical industries. This includes startups that are disrupting healthcare and biotechnology, as well as finance and insurance. B Capital has also supported some notable B2C companies, including coffee chain Kopi Kenangan and used car marketplace Carro.

Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Industry Investment Fund was launched at the closing ceremony of the 2019 World Artificial Intelligence conference. It was co-led by state-owned enterprises such as Guosheng Group and Lingang Group, and backed by local governments, state-owned industrial groups, and financing firms. The fund was initially be valued at RMB 10bn, with plans to increase this figure to RMB 100bn. It operates through direct investment and sub-funds.It mainly invests in early-stage tech companies as well as leading players that apply AI technologies in various verticals. 

Invest FWD A/S is an investment vehicle owned by Anders Holch Povlsen, founder of BESTSELLER and Heartland. It is also BESTSELLER’s investment arm for sustainable fashion. In June 2021, the firm made its investment by participating in a Series B round of Finnish cleantech Infinited Fiber. BESTSELLER’s sustainability innovation platform Fashion FWD Lab has been collaborating with Infinited Fiber over the past year to develop and patent Infinna™ fiber material. BESTSELLER has also signed a multi-year commercial agreement with Infinited Fiber to secure access to the startup’s regenerated fibers to be made from textile and other industrial waste.

Hangzhou-based Tisiwi Ventures is an angel investor focused on Chinese internet companies. One of the earliest in China to adopt the Y Combinator model, it has backed more than 100 startups.

NAVER is a South Korean internet company that runs the country’s top search engine, as well as other internet services. One of its subsidiaries, LINE, is based in Japan and operates a popular instant messaging app.

Founded in 2006, the Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm was one of the earliest to focus on seed investing. It has around US$1.3 billion under management and has backed more than 700 founders.

Traveloka is an Indonesian online travel agency that reached unicorn status in 2017 after receiving funding from Expedia. It has since added new services, including hotel and car rental bookings to its offerings. 

Ex-Goldman Sachs and McKinsey employee Adamas Belva Syah Devara (known as Belva) holds a double degree in Business and Computer Science from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where he graduated with honors. He was one of eight from Indonesia selected for full scholarship throughout his study. While studying at NTU, Adamas won triple gold medals for topping his cohorts academically for all four years of study. He graduated with an MBA from Stanford University and an MPA from Harvard University.
