Vincent Rosso, the co-founder of Consentio and BlaBlaCar Spain is also the chairman of GOI Travel SL. The industrial engineer has a wide range of work experience including working as an aerospace and telecom software engineer at Dassault Data Services after obtaining his master’s in 1994. He also worked as sales manager at IT firms Interwoven and Kabira Technology.He decided to become a tech investor and co-founder in 2009 with BlaBlaCar. Since then, Rosso supported more startups and eventually established SeedPod Capital in 2015 to manage all his investments.

The VC was established in 2017 by former Facebook executive Laura González-Estéfani with co-founder Clara Bullrich from Guggenheim Partners Latin America/LJ Partnership.The ecosystem accelerator is data-driven and has diverse interests in AI, healthtech, cybersecurity, SaaS, marketplaces, fintech, blockchain and VR. Founded in 2011, StartUp Health is a New-York based accelerator. Chaired by former Time Warner CEO Jerry Levin, the platform is reputed to have the world’s largest portfolio of digital health companies spanning 12 countries. An active and well-known angel investor in Spain and the US, Iñaki Berenguer was also co-founder and CEO at Klink (acquired by Thinkingphones) and Pixable (acquired by SingTel). He previously worked for MNCs like Hewlett Packard, STMicroelectronics, Pentium group of Intel and NEC Laboratories America. He spent two years as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and as a manager in the Corporate Strategy Group of Microsoft.Originally from Valencia, but now based in New York, Berenguer is currently co-founder and CEO of Coverwallet.

Launched in 2018, Everbright New Economy USD Fund (New Economy Fund) is under the umbrella of China Everbright, a Hong Kong-listed financial conglomerate. The New Economy Fund started from an inaugural fund of US$483m, with US$150m from Bahrain-based asset manager Investcorp. It invests mainly in the e-commerce, smart retail and artificial intelligence sectors. In November 2019, China Everbright and Investcorp announced they will co-manage Investcorp New Economy Fund I and explore the opportunity to establish a successor private equity fund, jointly managed by the two parties, that will target China’s tech sector.

Carlos Cadenas is a computer engineer with extensive industry experience. In 2008, he founded Fogg as CEO. The travel tech startup was later acquired by Skyscanner. He stayed on at Skyscanner as CPO and expanded the product development division from 150 to over 400 people across 10 sites globally, including engineering, design and product management.Cadenas is also an investor, mentor and board member in multiple startups. Currently, he’s the COO of GoCardless, one of the fastest-growing fintechs in Europe, helping the company to scale up its business internationally.

With the aim of supporting Hong Kong to develop into a world-class tech innovation center and cooperating with Guangdong and Macau enterprises to support the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, large-sized mainland enterprises operating in Hong Kong, Hong Kong companies, mainland private firms and new economy enterprises initiated Greater Bay Area Homeland Development Fund in 2018. With a total capital volume of over HK$100bn, it is managed by Greater Bay Area Homeland Investments. The fund will also provide help to enterprises in the Greater Bay Area to export products to overseas markets.

Sky Ocean Ventures is a £25m impact investment fund and part of the Sky Media Group. It was launched in 2018 with the goal of accelerating businesses that can tackle global plastic pollution with innovative ideas and disruptive technologies. The firm has backed 20 startups that have developed solutions that help mitigate plastic disposals in the environment, such as disposable bottles made of paper, reusable delivery boxes, sachets made from seaweed and packaging made from wood chips. Sky Ocean Ventures also partners with, among others, The National Geographic and the Imperial College in London. 

The merged entity of China’s two largest local services rivals, Meituan has a market cap of HKD 1.93tn in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, where it is listed. Its total transaction volume reached RMB 682bn in 2019. In 2015, Meituan merged with Chinese rival Dianping and was known as Meituan-Dianping, but the brand has since been unified to Meituan. Now headed by Meituan founder Wang Xing, the Tencent-backed company is China’s largest on-demand, or O2O (online-to-offline), services provider, offering food delivery, restaurant booking, group buying, movie ticket booking and more.

Founded in 2019, Country Garden Venture Capital is the corporate venturing arm of Chinese real estate developer Country Garden. With its parent company as the cornerstone investor, it is focused on certain sectors of the supply chain, namely, technology, healthcare and consumption. As of March 2021, Country Garden Venture Capital has invested around RMB 10bn in over 50 companies with an average return above 80%. Among them, 15 have achieved unicorn status ($1bn in valuation), while four have successfully gone public.

InnoSpace is a startup service platform focusing on the early stage incubation of internet/mobile internet companies, with RMB angel funds and two 3-month startup accelerator programs each year. InnoSpace has helped its projects raise about RMB 600 million in total and is one of the four incubator partners of Intel in China.

HGI Finaves China is initiated by HGI Capital, a Hong Kong-based investment fund, and CEIBS, a business school established under an agreement between China’s trade ministry and the European Commission. It makes seed/angel round as well as Series A investments in the TMT, culture and creative, and consumer-related sectors in China.

Omidyar Network is a private equity fund and venture capital firm. Founded in 2004 by eBay co-founder Pierre Omidyar, it focuses on “impact investing” in diverse startups that are able to cater to the needs of even the poorest consumers worldwide. Omidyar provides investment funds and nonprofit grants, as well as management support services including talent recruitment.

Start-Up Chile is a public accelerator program set up by the Chilean government and looks to invest in startups across the world with Chile as their foundation. It has a diverse portfolio, having invested in startups from Europe, North America and Asia. Start-Up Chile primarily gives seed and grant funding, typically investing between $15,000 and $90,000.

A veteran businessman, Diono Nurjadin is the president and CEO of Cardig Aero Services that is also a logistics partner of Kargo.co.id. He worked for Peregrine Securities in Singapore before returning to Indonesia in 1994. He was also the chairman of the now-defunct Mandala Airlines. Diono is a member of ANGIN, a network of Indonesian angel investors.
