Born in 1961, Li Zexiang was an undergraduate at Central South Institute of Mining Metallurgy in 1978. From 1979 to 1992, he studied and worked in the US, earning a doctoral degree at the University of California, Berkeley in 1989. He worked as an AILab researcher at MIT in 1989. In 1990, he joined NYU's Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences as an associate professor.In 1992, he returned to China and worked as a professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology ever since. In 1999, he founded motor control company Googol Tech. He is well-known for incubating DJI and became the chairman of Shenzhen-based drone and aerial photography systems company.

Singapore's government-owned investor has a net portfolio value of just over S$300bn, with assets mainly in Asia and Singapore. Beijing Kunlun Tech Co., Ltd. (Kunlun) is a Beijing-based gaming, fintech and software company founded in 2008. It went public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2015. In 2016, Kunlun acquired a 60% stake in Grindr. It now invests primarily in sectors such as social networking, live streaming, IoT and AI. Four of the companies in which it invested - Qudian, Yinke, Opera and Ruhan - have gone public as of April 2019. 

Lenovo Accelerator was co-founded by Lenovo Capital and Incubator Group and Hong Kong-based business park Cyberport in Hong Kong in May 2016. It invests mainly in early-stage startups specialized in cutting-edge technologies and TMT. It is Lenovo Group's first startup accelerator in China. Each startup selected by Lenovo Accelerator receives RMB 500,000 to RMB 1m in funding from Lenovo Group.

Picart Petcare is the family business of Albert Icart Martori, co-founder of Kibus Petcare. It has been in operation since 1953 and is based in Barcelona. Not usually an investor in tech or startups, it has invested solely in healthy pet food preparation hardware startup Kibus with a pre-seed investment of €120,000 in 1Q 2019. Picart distributes pet food and animal feed in more than 25 European and Middle Eastern markets and is set to be a key distributor of Kibus' hardware. 

Ex-Huawei man; founder of FileMaster, a powerful file transfer and manage tool for mobile phones that topped app store charts in 30 countries. Was successively R&D engineer, system designer, product manager at telecom equipment maker Huawei. Admits a slight obsession with products.

Li worked as a regional sales manager at Dianping, the largest restaurant review website in China, from 2008 to 2015, where he successfully built and led a team of more than 300 sales experts, helping the company achieve considerable sales revenue.

Guo Changzhen worked at news portal NetEase, responsible for developing NetEase Mailbox and Youdao Dictionary, before co-founding online tutoring platform Fenbi, the predecessor of Yuanfudao, in April 2014. Guo is now the technology director of Yuanfudao. He also founded the dating app Izhuanjiao.

Founded in 1990, Macrolink Group is now a large-scale modernized group with businesses in real estate, mining, petroleum, chemical, investment, finance and other industries. It has 90+ wholly owned subsidiaries, holding subsidiaries and sharing subsidiaries, operating in 20+ provinces in China and 40+ countries overseas.

Pathena is a Porto-based venture capital firm founded in 2010 and focuses on IT investments, particularly medtech. Pathena closed its first portfolio fund in 2011, having invested in 10 companies and it launched its current portfolio fund in 2013 worth €56 million.

Garden Impact Investments is an investment holding company based in Singapore. The company engages in impact investing, seeking startups that can create social and environmental benefits in their communities. Its portfolio includes companies in Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore, covering sectors ranging from agriculture, health and education.

Hantan Capital, headquartered in Shanghai, was established in 2014. It invests mainly in startups in the TMT field that focus on new technologies, corporate services and consumption upgrade. Hantan Capital's investments range from RMB 1–8 million.

Howzat Partners is mainly an early stage digital business investment fund. Founded in 2006, with headquarters in Luxembourg and an office in London, the firm also invests globally in the digital media, e-commerce and internet sectors.

Headquartered in Shenzhen, Qianhai FoF was founded in 2015 with Shenzhen Capital Group as its only institutional partner. It is China's biggest FoF, with RMB 21.5bn in capital under management. Qianhai FoF is the largest single fundraising venture capital and private equity investment fund in China.

Established in San Francisco in 1998, global VC firm e.ventures now has offices and teams in the US, Brazil, Germany, China and Japan. The company invests from seed stage to later stages in sums ranging from US$500,000 to US$30m. It has invested in over 275 companies to date, as lead investor in 70, and has managed 42 exits, including Groupon and Farfetch. Recent investments include cloud-based contract management company Icertis's US$115m Series E round and workforce app Staffbase's Series C round. The VC has six investment funds, totaling US$1.1bn, including a US$125m European-dedicated fund established in June 2019.
