Pinama Investments is a Madrid-based club of investors that has invested across a range of sectors and technologies. It has conducted two selection rounds to date, in 2013 and 2017. The firm has seen one exit to date. 

Established in 2002, Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed NWS Holdings’ main businesses are in infrastructure and service. Its main shareholder is New World Development. Henry Cheng currently serves as chairman and executive director of NWS Holdings. He is the eldest son of Dr Cheng Yu-tung, the founder of New World Development, a Hong Kong-based conglomerate engaged in property development, infrastructure and services. 

Established in 2011, Shilling Capital Partners is a Portuguese angel investment fund and one of the three subsidiaries of Mogope, a Portuguese investment manager, whose partners are also co-founders of Shilling. To date, the company has invested in 18 startups, both tech and bricks-and-mortar, and has managed three exits, including BestTables that was acquired by TripAdvisor. It typically invests between €250,000 and €1m in seed and Series A rounds and ensures liquidity until the next funding round, or when the startup becomes capable of funding its own growth. Established in 2018, Jensen Group Investment Fund is the generalist investment fund of Danish entrepreneur Steen Ulf Jensen, founder of the Jensen Group, a global manufacturer of machines for the heavy-duty laundry industry based in Belgium. Jensen was also the CEO of Box TV and Digicel Cabel. The fund has so far invested in four startups with Jensen becoming board chairman at the investee companies. In 2020, the fund acquired stakes in the July €1.1m seed round of Danish alt-leather biotech Beyond Leather Materials and in the funding of Danish bike lock startup PentaLock earlier in March.

Lanai Partners is an angel investors group based in Barcelona.The network of investors was formed in 2016 by a group of Spanish business angels and backed by strong partners and entrepreneurs, such as Airbnb (Europe, Middle East and Africa) managing director Jeroen Merchiers, Viko Group president Rubén Ferreiro, Housell CEO Guillermo Llibre and SocialCar founder and CEO Mar Alarcón.Lanai Partners mainly invests in early-stage funding rounds with a maximum capital of €200,000 per startup and focusing on the SaaS, marketplace and digital health sectors.

Mohit Goel is one of India’s youngest real estate tycoons and an angel investor. He appeared as one of a panel of potential investors on the India reality TV show The Vault,  which features start-ups pitching their business ideas to angel investors in order to seek funding. Goel is CEO of Omaxe, a real estate firm based in New Delhi. As the second-generation head of the company, he was credited for structural changes aimed at turning the firm around amidst challenging market conditions and introducing fresh concepts and customer-centric ideas to strengthen the business. Goel is also the north zone head of CREDAI Youth Wing, an industry body bringing together the next generation of leaders in India’s real estate and property developer market. In 2014, he was named Young Male Entrepreneur of the Year at the Infra & Realty Sutra Awards and also received the Young Achiever’s Award at ABP News’ Real Estate Awards.

Pearson Affordable Learning Fund (PALF) is the venture capital arm of Pearson, the world’s largest education company. With investments in 10 education startups and a total of 350,000 learners,PALF is expanding its range of affordable education solutions in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Indonesia’s online learning provider HarukaEdu is the 11th addition.It is PALF’s first foray into the online higher education market.
