Co-founder and CEO of Allozymes
Peyman Salehian is an Iranian-born entrepreneur trained in chemical and biomolecular engineering. He founded his first company in 2010 after developing a custom material, and sold his stake in the company in 2013 before pursuing a PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS).Salehian graduated from the PhD program in 2017 and worked as a research fellow before embarking on one-year stints at two Singapore companies. In late 2019, he and fellow NUS researcher Akbar Vahidi established Allozymes, a startup offering enzyme engineering services using NUS-developed technology under license, with Salehian as CEO and Vahidi as CTO.

Karen Scofield Seal is the CEO and co-founder of Oceanium, a Scottish startup developing marine-safe bio packaging and plant-based food and nutrition products from sustainably farmed seaweed. During the 90s she lived in New York working as Senior Manager and Producer for the National Football League, as Production Supervisor and Event director at the US OPEN Tennis, and as Coordinating Producer at ABC News.She later moved to London with her husband, where she worked in Comic Relief and in RED, liaising with Apple, American Express and Converse partnerships. In 2009 she co-founded LUCZA, a luxury e-commerce active since 2014. There, she executed marketing and PR strategies including offline and online initiatives.

His professional life started in the US, where he worked on wind turbine generators in EDF's R&D department. In 2008, he joined CRISA, an Airbus company, as a power electronics design engineer. Between 2011 and 2015, González held various roles at Spanish industrial engineering company Grupo Cobra, spending time in Spain, the Ivory Coast and Cameroon. He holds a master's in Electrical and Thermal Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and another in Advanced Materials from Cranfield University in the UK.

Mehak Mumtaz grew up in Pakistan and decided to study biochemistry when she saw her brother suffering from an unknown learning disability. Her parents, both medical doctors, could not get an accurate diagnosis for their son. In her search to understand the molecular mechanisms behind diseases, she applied to study at the University of Oxford. In 2008, she was granted the Reach Oxford Scholarship and graduated with a master’s in biochemistry in 2012. In 2015, the St Hilda’s alumna worked as an undergraduate tutor at Oxford while completing a PhD in pathology, specializing in oncology and cancer biology.In 2018, she worked on a rare cancer project as EIT Health Business Innovation fellow for a year. She left academia and joined a three-month bioentrepreneur bootcamp in Munich and a one-month Lev8 Woman Program at her alma mater’s Oxford Foundry.
