Based in San Francisco, the Mulago Foundation is a philanthropic foundation designed to carry on the life work of pediatrician Rainer Arnhold who died in 1993 while working in the mountains of Bolivia. He originally set up the Mulago Foundation in 1968, naming it after a hospital in Uganda. Born in 1992, Huang is pursuing her doctoral degree in Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. While studying for her master's at UESTC in 2016, she founded a robotics startup. Huang and her team developed a badminton robot that played against Premier Li Keqiang and also won the Best Innovative Robotic Technology Award at the 2016 World Robotics Conference. In 2017, she was nominated for University Student of the Year by China Campus magazine.
