Established as an Internet forum in 1999, Kaskus is one of Indonesia's most successful online communities, outlasting many other Indonesian dotcom companies established at the turn of the century. Originally hosted in the USA where its founders lived and studied at the time, Kaskus eventually branched out into content creation and online advertisements, growing via several investments and acquisitions.

Tunas Nusantara Kapital, also known as TNKapital, is an Indonesian early stage venture capital firm founded in 2017. TNKapital has invested in payroll software startup Gadjian, logistics and fulfilment firm Pakde, as well as employee attendance and management software Hadirr. Like many early stage venture capital firms, TNKapital also provides mentorship and networking support to its portfolio companies. 

Discovery Nusantara Capital is a venture capital firm with a focus on video gaming and related industries. The firm is backed by China's Zhexin IT and Indonesian angel investors keen to support the growth of the local game industry. Discovery Nusantara Capital has helped introduce games from Touchten, an Indonesian game development studio, to the Chinese market. Aside from video games, the firm has recently invested in NaoBun Project, an Indonesian comics publisher and intellectual property management agency.

Amand Ventures is a venture capital firm established in 2016. Based in Singapore, it has backed the payments startup Wallex and Indonesian online jewelry business Orori. 

ATM Capital is a China-based venture capital firm with a focus on Southeast Asia. In 2017, ATM Capital participated in the seed round of Indonesian coworking space operator Rework (now GoWork). Its its partners have invested in Go-Jek, Rocket Internet and several Chinese companies. It closed its US$200 million fund in January 2019. 

UCommune is a Chinese coworking space operator, best known for its UrWork brand. As of November 2018, it has raised over US$650 million and has most recently completed series D funding. UCommune has also invested in Chinese companies Danke Apartment and Huodongxing, as well as Indonesian coworking space operator Rework (now GoWork).

Unreasonable Capital is a US-based venture capital firm. It focuses on early to mid-stage startups in emerging markets that address social and environmental challenges. The firm does not lead investments on its own, participating only when a local entity participates in financing. Its portfolio includes Nigerian fintech firm Paga, Indonesian automated fish feeder maker eFishery and solar power system producer BuffaloGrid.

Triputra Group is an Indonesian conglomerate with businesses in agriculture, manufacturing, trading and mining. It also runs a pension fund and a charitable foundation. The conglomerate was founded in 1998 by Theodore Permadi Rachmat, the former CEO of the Astra Group. It is a recent entrant in the startup investing scene; in 2018, it invested in retail startup Warung Pintar and fishery automation company eFishery.

RND Capital is an Indonesian venture capital firm. Its only publicized investment to date is its US$3 million seed funding for mutual funds investment platform Tanamduit.

WuXi AppTec is a Chinese company that specializes in the outsourcing of R&D in the pharmaceuticals, biotechnology and medical devices sectors. Listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, WuXi AppTec has invested in drug development and healthcare firms globally. Its portfolio includes Insilico Medicine, which is developing an AI platform for drug development, brain disease research firm Verge Genomics and Indonesian healthcare platform Halodoc.

Patrick Walujo is the co-founder of Indonesian hedge fund Northstar Group. He had previously worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in London and New York before moving to Tokyo to join Pacific Capital Group. Ever since establishing Northstar Group in 2003, Patrick has overseen acquisitions and investments in notable Indonesian enterprises, including minimarket chain Alfamart, movie theater franchise Blitz Megaplex (now CGV Blitz after an investment from Korea's CJ CGV chain) and Equator Securities.

Azure Ventures is an Indonesian-based VC. It has backed e-mail marketing SaaS company MailTarget and IT-focused headhunting platform Ekrut.

The Mirae Asset Financial Group started in 1997 with Mirae Asset Global Investment and Mirae Asset Capital. The group's business interests focus on asset and wealth management, investments, and insurance. It has also invested in a range of companies, from logistics firm Shadowfax to AmazeVR. In 2018, it established a joint venture with Naver Corporation, one of South Korea's leading tech companies, and set up the Asia Growth Fund with $940m committed to VC investing in the region. The joint venture has backed Southeast Asian ride-hailing giant Grab, Indonesian e-commerce platform Bukalapak, and Singapore-based credit scoring firm FinAccel.

Kinesys Group is an Indonesian VC founded in 2019 by startup ecosystem builder Yansen Kamto. The company made their debut investment in new retail F&B startup Wahyoo. They have also backed sweet-drinks chain Goola and online learning center Zenius. While the company has made at least five investments in Indonesian companies, they have not closed their first fund, for which they targeted to reach $20m. Kinesys targets seed rounds, contributing ticket sizes averaging around $500,000 per startup.

Tenaya Capital was originally founded in 1995 as Lehman Brothers Venture Partners. In 2009, following Lehman's bankruptcy, Tenaya was spun off into an independent company, with HarbourVest Partners acquired their existing investments. Since then, Tenaya has invested in some major tech companies, including event ticketing company Eventbrite, early fashion e-commerce firm Zappos, and Uber competitor Lyft. They have so far made two investments into Indonesian companies: agritech e-commerce platform TaniHub, and “Uber-for-logistics” company Kargo Technologies. Tenaya typically invests in Series B and Series C rounds, although they have gone into Series A and later rounds as well.
